Ereslim lies far to the east: verdant forests, high clifftops, and dangerously swift seas. It is a place in the world, not above it — but it is where the gods come down to, and where they are met when they are anywhere in reach of mortals at all.
They do not stay. The gods keep in Aamantlan, the Skyhome, and Ereslim is the ground they set foot on when they do not. That distinction is not one the east coast makes.
What mortals say of it
No mortal has done more than see such things in rumor and old ship's hand tales, and none has returned to the civilized world to tell of it. The common account is simply that the gods live in Ereslim. That is incomplete rather than untrue: it is the only place gods are ever seen, so it is taken for the whole of where they are.
The divination temple
Giralaya keeps a divination temple here, a massive pyramid that catches the light of her husband Aavaraya and uses it as part of her predictions. It is to this temple that Baaraya came to speak with her, fearing what she would lose, in The Binding of Aavaraya.
