The Binding of Aavaraya

Aavaraya stands too close to Areshnaat and burns it, and the gods resolve to set him in the Pale moon.

Lat. IIILong. IX

Aavaraya is the Light Bringer, the Lord of Flames, and the Radiant Sun. He is intensity personified, so bright that even the light of Aamantlan (Xibanal Elven, Karakeel: Šamaykoda) doesn't shine through him. Aavaraya decided one day that he was to inspect the denziens of Areshnaat, and chose to stand close, taking post by his wife, Giralaya, to view the mortals. Travesty ensued. People suffered terrible burns, crops failed, and forests alighted. Infernos stretched the horizon from his brilliant visage. Baaraya, angered at the destruction of his creation lashed at Aavaraya with his weapon, moving him away. Aavaraya, annoyed by his brother shifted places, setting a new continent alight. Zimanaya, the Time goddess, the knower of the ordained that was divined by Giralaya, frowned. Mortals were ordained to exist. Aavaraya, challenged by his brother, would not be willing to move.

Zimanaya, considering, spoke to Baaraya, suggesting to him a solution for the ails that Aavaraya wrought upon the populace. "Your brother merely wishes to watch the creations of your hands. He doesn't mean harm, but he cannot be permitted to be too close. I say that we entrap him in the Pale moon, so he may sit and watch those below, without causing more damages." Baaraya, considered such a plan.

Baaraya feared the consequence of Giralaya, losing her husband to the moon, and went to speak with her at her divination temple, a massive pyramid in Ereslim that caught the light of her husband and used it as part of her predictions.
